About us
Help for hunger campaign was set up by local mum of 4 Rosie Hurndall.
After listening to a fellow friend who was fundraising for a school parent who was rehoused with nothing but the clothes on his children's back Rosie decided to take action.
It was close to Christmas and instead of doing the shoebox appeal at school she thought what about doing hampers for families locally who would otherwise go without at Christmas.
The hampers consist of essential food and gifts for all in the family. We started with 30 hampers in the first year and grown to just under 600 in our third year.
The response for our community is incredible as are St Monicas Church who loan us the hall for the week and the team of helpers who enable me to do it, it's all a real team effort.
